Role Overview

We are seeking a Lead Functional Consultant / Solution Architect with deep expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, specifically in the Finance and Project Management & Accounting (PMA) modules. This position demands a hands-on leader with financial acumen, solution ownership, and proven experience delivering scalable, product-standard solutions for project-driven organizations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Solution Design & Architecture

• Own functional architecture for D365 Finance & PMA modules.

• Design scalable, standardized solutions aligned to business goals and compliance (IFRS, GAAP).

• Configure multi-entity, multi-currency, and project-based accounting frameworks.

2. Client Engagement & Discovery

• Conduct workshops with Finance Directors, Controllers, and Project Heads.

• Lead discovery sessions to define and prioritize business requirements.

• Challenge legacy practices and promote D365 best practices.

3. Fit-Gap & Specification

• Conduct detailed fit-gap analysis and solution definition.

• Create high-quality functional specs, process flows, configuration strategy, and test cases.

• Minimize customizations through expert use of standard features.

4. Project Delivery Leadership

• Work with cross-functional teams (technical, data, integration) to ensure project alignment with design.

• Support CRPs, UATs, cutover, training, and go-live phases.

5. Stakeholder & Team Leadership

• Serve as the functional SME for Finance and PMA.

• Present trade-offs and functional decisions to stakeholders.

• Mentor consultants, review deliverables, and ensure delivery governance.

6. Reporting & Compliance

• Ensure solution supports statutory reporting, KPIs, and audit needs.

• Contribute to report designs using Management Reporter, Power BI, and Excel-based tools.

Key Requirements

Experience:

• 10–12 years of experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX (2009/2012) and D365 F&O.

• At least 3–4 full-cycle implementations in D365 Finance and PMA modules.

Finance Expertise:

• General Ledger, AR/AP, Fixed Assets, Cash & Bank, Period Close, Budgeting, Consolidation, Financial Dimensions.

PMA Expertise:

• Project creation, WBS, cost control, billing (T&M, fixed, milestone), revenue recognition, forecasting.

Other Competencies:

• Deep understanding of accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP).

• Experience with multi-entity rollouts, localization, and compliance.

• Strong documentation and communication skills.

• Functional leadership across cross-functional teams.

• Exposure to Power BI, Azure DevOps, LCS, Excel-based integrations.

Preferred Industry Experience:

• Professional services or other project-driven industries.
