Role Description
As a Scrum Master at UST, you will guide and coach software development teams to effectively apply the Scrum framework and Agile principles. You will facilitate Scrum ceremonies, remove impediments, and promote a culture of continuous improvement, transparency, and accountability across teams.
Key Responsibilities
Guide and coach development teams in effectively applying the Scrum framework and Agile principles.
Plan and track deliverables to ensure quality and timeline adherence.
Facilitate Scrum ceremonies including Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
Identify and remove impediments that hinder team progress or productivity.
Collaborate with Product Owners and stakeholders to manage backlogs, priorities, and new feature requests.
Promote effective communication and collaboration between development, QA, and business teams.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, empowerment, and ownership within teams.
Support teams in implementing process improvements and adopting Agile best practices.
Track and analyze metrics such as velocity and burndown to assess performance.
Ensure deliverables meet defined quality standards and align with the Definition of Done (DoD).
Primary Skills
10+ years of total IT experience, with at least 6+ years as a Scrum Master.
Deep knowledge of the Scrum framework, artifacts, and events (user stories, backlog refinement, definition of done, automated testing, etc.).
Strong understanding of Agile principles and Agile project management.
Excellent communication, facilitation, and servant leadership skills.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate across teams.
Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution capabilities.
Proficiency in Agile tools such as Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps.
Secondary Skills
Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and technical environments.
Experience with Kanban, XP, or other Agile frameworks.
Strong grasp of Agile metrics and reporting (velocity tracking, burndown charts, etc.).
Ability to mentor and guide junior Scrum Masters or Agile team members.
Good to Have Skills
Scrum Master Certification (CSM, PSM, or equivalent).
Degree in Computer Science, IT, or Business Management.
Exposure to Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or Large-Scale Scrum (LeSS).
Experience working with distributed or hybrid Agile teams.
Knowledge of Agile transformation initiatives or organizational change management.
