Role Purpose
As a trained Scrum Master, you will be responsible for facilitating a Scrum team and ensuring that the Scrum process is implemented effectively. You will help remove impediments, promote self-management within the team, and ensure collaboration and focus towards achieving sprint goals and deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
Be accountable for meeting sprint objectives in collaboration with the Scrum team.
Ensure that sprint commitments are met and impediments are resolved promptly.
Support the Product Owner (PO) in adopting Scrum processes effectively and ensuring their availability to the team.
Assist the PO in maintaining the Product Backlog, defining user stories, and setting acceptance criteria.
Facilitate estimation sessions, backlog refinement, and all planning ceremonies.
Ensure Definition of Ready (DoR), Definition of Done (DoD), and acceptance criteria are established and followed.
Maintain adherence to MoSCoW prioritization within sprint backlogs.
Safeguard the team from external disruptions and ensure a productive environment.
Enable clear communication within the team and across cross-functional teams.
Participate in Scrum of Scrums to escalate and resolve impediments.
Provide feedback on team performance to Agile Line Managers and Program Leaders.
Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies (Planning, Daily Stand-up, Grooming, Demo, Retrospective).
Maintain and update Scrum artifacts and ensure ALM tools (client or Wipro) are updated daily.
Track, analyze, and report key Scrum metrics, taking corrective action where necessary.
Drive competency improvement and cross-skilling plans, ensuring at least 50% of the team is multi-skilled.
Support the team in achieving a stable velocity within 6–8 sprints (with 10% variation).
Train and mentor team members on Agile processes (Scrum, XP, Kanban).
Promote adoption of engineering practices such as ATDD, TDD, CI/CD, and refactoring.
Record, own, and track retrospective actions to completion.
Participate in internal communities of practice and contribute to quality improvement forums (QIC, APR, QBR, MBR).
