Job Description

The D365 Sr. Functional Consultant – Finance will lead strategic Dynamics 365 F&O Finance implementations, provide architectural guidance, and ensure high-quality delivery of functional solutions. This role requires strong expertise in Finance modules, solution architecture, fit-gap analysis, and end-to-end D365 lifecycle management.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide functional architectural leadership for Dynamics 365 F&O Finance projects.

• Lead discussions with business and IT stakeholders to gather requirements and define solution architecture.

• Demonstrate out-of-the-box D365 capabilities and ensure adoption of best practices.

• Own user story definition and delivery across the full project lifecycle.

• Conduct fit-gap analysis and guide junior consultants in user story development.

• Model business and system processes using workflows, use cases, and data models.

• Evaluate impacts of system upgrades, patches, and proposed changes.

• Design, configure, test, and implement D365 features, extensions, interfaces, and reports.

• Collaborate with product owners, technical teams, QA, and training to ensure successful delivery.

• Mentor core ERP team members on story writing, process design, and system features.

• Perform quality checks on peer deliverables including gaps, stories, configurations, and extensions.

• Identify and communicate risks and escalations to leadership using approved processes.

• Provide production support, manage incidents, and participate in on-call rotation.

• Promote agile delivery, innovation, and customer-centric work culture.

• Support project planning, estimation, budgeting, and compliance with organizational standards.

• Coach junior staff on D365 implementation processes, tools, and solution designs.

• Contribute to foundational team improvements and infrastructure initiatives.

Required Skills & Expertise

• Strong functional expertise in Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O)

• D365 Finance domain knowledge across GL, AP, AR, FA, Budgeting, Costing

• Experience with D365 integration architectures and connected applications

• Fit-gap analysis, user story development, and solution design

• Process modeling: workflows, use cases, data models

• Hands-on configuration, testing, and implementation of D365 Finance features

• Understanding of SCM processes is a plus

• Production support experience in D365 F&O environments

• Expertise in enterprise architecture and cross-functional collaboration
