Job Description

The Scrum Master (SM) at Cvent plays a key role in enabling Agile excellence. As a servant leader to 2–3 sprint teams, the SM facilitates team ceremonies, resolves impediments, promotes continuous improvement, and drives agile best practices. This position requires technical aptitude, collaboration across cross-functional teams, and a strong focus on delivery and team dynamics.


Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain sprint cadence for multiple sprint teams

  • Facilitate Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, Backlog Grooming, and Retrospective meetings

  • Publish committed sprint objectives and ensure visibility to stakeholders

  • Coordinate with Product Owners to maintain and prioritize the team backlog

  • Manage team dependencies and escalate blockers or risks

  • Encourage collaboration between Architects, UX, QA, and Development teams

  • Facilitate Scrum of Scrums and cross-team coordination

  • Promote Agile best practices and help teams achieve self-organization

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives through metrics and retrospectives

  • Coordinate support for production issues and SLA adherence

  • Track team performance metrics such as velocity, sprint burndown, and throughput

  • Communicate sprint progress and health to leadership and stakeholders on a fixed cadence

  • Assist with PI planning and estimation processes when needed

  • Coach and mentor teams on Agile methodologies and Scrum principles


Candidate Requirements

  • 5–7 years of technical experience, with 2–4 years as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach

  • Proficient in Agile concepts like velocity, burndown, backlog tracking, and task definition

  • Solid understanding of Scrum, Kanban, and other Agile methodologies

  • Strong leadership, conflict resolution, and analytical skills

  • Experience using Jira, Confluence, and other Atlassian tools preferred

  • Working knowledge of project and sprint planning, estimation, and risk management

  • Situational awareness to detect and respond to team issues before escalation

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience with enterprise-scale Agile development is preferred

  • Experience with PI planning and project management is a plus


Educational Qualifications

  • UG: B.Tech/B.E. in any specialization

  • PG: M.Tech / MCA in any specialization
