Job Description
The Scrum Master (SM) at Cvent plays a key role in enabling Agile excellence. As a servant leader to 2–3 sprint teams, the SM facilitates team ceremonies, resolves impediments, promotes continuous improvement, and drives agile best practices. This position requires technical aptitude, collaboration across cross-functional teams, and a strong focus on delivery and team dynamics.
Key Responsibilities
Establish and maintain sprint cadence for multiple sprint teams
Facilitate Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, Backlog Grooming, and Retrospective meetings
Publish committed sprint objectives and ensure visibility to stakeholders
Coordinate with Product Owners to maintain and prioritize the team backlog
Manage team dependencies and escalate blockers or risks
Encourage collaboration between Architects, UX, QA, and Development teams
Facilitate Scrum of Scrums and cross-team coordination
Promote Agile best practices and help teams achieve self-organization
Drive continuous improvement initiatives through metrics and retrospectives
Coordinate support for production issues and SLA adherence
Track team performance metrics such as velocity, sprint burndown, and throughput
Communicate sprint progress and health to leadership and stakeholders on a fixed cadence
Assist with PI planning and estimation processes when needed
Coach and mentor teams on Agile methodologies and Scrum principles
Candidate Requirements
5–7 years of technical experience, with 2–4 years as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach
Proficient in Agile concepts like velocity, burndown, backlog tracking, and task definition
Solid understanding of Scrum, Kanban, and other Agile methodologies
Strong leadership, conflict resolution, and analytical skills
Experience using Jira, Confluence, and other Atlassian tools preferred
Working knowledge of project and sprint planning, estimation, and risk management
Situational awareness to detect and respond to team issues before escalation
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Experience with enterprise-scale Agile development is preferred
Experience with PI planning and project management is a plus
Educational Qualifications
UG: B.Tech/B.E. in any specialization
PG: M.Tech / MCA in any specialization
